Visited by Charles Dickens when he stayed in Shrewsbury the site of the fourth largest Roman city in Britain has fascinated visitors since excavations began in 1859.
Situated in beautiful countryside the historic attraction has been greatly developed over the years. The latest addition was the building of a new Roman town house which featured in the Channel Four programme ‘Rome Wasn’t Built in a Day’.
